Vice Chairman of Hai Phong City People’s Committee, Hoang Minh Cuong, held a working session with the Director of the Southeast Asia and Oceania Division of Singapore’s Ministry for Trade and Industry (MTI) to discuss the city’s priority areas for cooperation: seaports, logistics, and high-tech industries.

Hai Phong – Welcoming the working delegation from the Southeast Asia and Oceania Division of Singapore’s Ministry for Trade and Industry (MTI) on their visit to explore Hai Phong’s investment environment, Vice Chairman of the Hai Phong People’s Committee, Mr. Hoang Minh Cuong, noted that Singapore currently has 102 investment projects in the city, with total registered capital exceeding USD 9.8 billion. These projects are primarily concentrated in the fields of commerce, services, industrial manufacturing, and real estate.
He emphasized that the Vietnam Singapore Industrial Park (VSIP) in Hai Phong is a symbol of the strong and effective cooperation between the two countries, playing a vital role in transforming the city into a major industrial hub in northern Vietnam.
Vice Chairman Cuong expressed his hope that following this visit, the Southeast Asia and Oceania Division of Singapore’s MTI will act as a bridge to promote investment between Singaporean enterprises and Hai Phong, thereby further deepening the comprehensive strategic partnership between Vietnam and Singapore in general, and strengthening ties between Hai Phong and Singapore in particular.
Ms. Wong Yoke Hui, Director of the Southeast Asia and Oceania Division, expressed her strong impression of Hai Phong’s dynamic growth, describing it as a key economic growth driver of northern Vietnam in recent years. She praised Hai Phong’s potential and competitive advantages in seaports, industrial zones, and economic zones—particularly the Lach Huyen International Gateway Port.
Ms. Wong also extended her sincere thanks to Hai Phong authorities for their continued support in ensuring the stable development of the VSIP Hai Phong, which has successfully attracted many strategic investors.
The Singaporean side expressed confidence in the growing cooperation between the two sides across multiple sectors, including seaport and logistics services, high-tech industries, tourism, green growth-oriented energy, circular economy, and digital transformation—contributing to the further advancement of the strong partnership between Hai Phong and Singapore.
